The Individual Sports Branch at the College of Physical Education and Sport Sciences, University of Baghdad, organized an academic debate for second-year students as part of the college’s scientific activities aimed at enhancing students’ analytical and critical thinking skills.
The debate covered several academic and practical topics related to second-year courses, including sports sciences, field and court games, football, fencing, gymnastics, and the history of sports. Students were divided into competing teams and presented evidence-based arguments in an interactive environment attended by faculty members and students.
Dr. Mohammed Hassan Halil, Head of the Individual Sports Branch, praised the students’ performance, emphasizing the role of such activities in raising scientific awareness and developing discussion and debate skills.
The event concluded with the recognition of outstanding teams for their efforts in preparing and presenting scientific content.
